Dr. Joseph Simpson

Tacoma Periodontal Treatment "I guess you could say I come to dentistry naturally," says Dr. Joseph M. Simpson. "My family was definitely oriented towards the health professions. My grandfather was an endocrinologist, my mother a registered nurse and my father a dentist. Although my sister took a different path and is now an attorney working for Congress in Washington, D.C."

Dr. Simpson was born in Omaha, Nebraska while his father was attending dental school at Creighton University. After his father graduated, the family moved to his mother's hometown of Fort Collins, Colorado in 1971. After graduating high school, Dr. Simpson spent a year abroad as a Rotary International Exchange Student in Grinsted, Denmark. Since his family is of Swedish descent, this was a wonderful opportunity to absorb some of his Scandinavian heritage."

Dr. Simpson earned his undergraduate degree of a Bachelor of Science in Microbiology with honors from Colorado State University in 1998. He then continued his studies at his father's alma mater, Creighton University School of Dentistry. In 2002 he earned his DDS graduating first in his class and with a Magna Cum Laude award."

Dr. Simpson's career has a firm foundation in strong leadership. During his professional education he was a three year voting delegate and later the President of the local chapter of the American Student Dental Association. He has never forgotten the life changing benefits of a first-rate education and remains committed to staying up-to-date with the newest technologies and advanced techniques in the areas of restorative, cosmetic and implant dentistry."

"Back at school, my fellow students used to have a saying, 'It isn't done until it's Simpson-ized.' I used to think it was pretty funny but now I consider it an honor. Every day I do my best to live up to the very highest expectations of my peers, my patients and myself."

Dr. Karla Bloomquist

Gig Harbor Dentist"The whole dental industry is changing for the better and I believe that in part we can thank the unprecedented numbers of women dentists entering the field," said Dr. Bloomquist. "Happily, the warm, gracious chair-side manner our patients expect is something that comes very naturally to both of us."

Dr. Bloomquist grew up in Port Orchard, Washington where she attended South Kitsap High School and received her Undergraduate Bachelor of Science and Dental Hygiene degree from the University of Michigan in 1994.

While practicing Dental Hygiene in the greater Seattle area, she applied to Dental School in 2000. Dr. Bloomquist received her DDS degree in May 2004 from Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska.

Following graduation and their wedding, Dr Bloomquist joined Dr. Simpson in his hometown practice of Fort Collins, Colorado. The dream of opening their own practice began to ensue and became a reality when SoundBridge opened in August of 2005.

Dr. Bloomquist came to her career naturally. Her father practiced in Port Orchard for thirty years and her sister Melany is now working in his former office with her husband. A lifetime in the world of dentistry has given her the opportunity to develop a clear vision of practice philosophy, which she shares with her husband. "We enjoy being a part of Gig Harbor and I hope that our enthusiasm is reflected in our patients' experiences at SoundBridge."
